German/American jazz, pop, world singer, composer and director, based in Copenhagen Denmark. Manuela Lærke is a performing artist as well as the conductor of the following ensembles; “Manuela Lærke Group” and “Little
Gospel Choir”. Manuela Lærke has extensive experience as a vocal coach and workshop tutor.
About “While We’re Still Around”
Manuela Lærke’s latest album ”While We’re Still Around”, features splendid array of renowned Danish jazz musicians including: Bob Rockwell (US), Hugo Rasmussen (DK) and Manuelas own cuban rythm section: bass player Yasser Pino and percussionist Eliel Lazo, and the Swedish pianist Jonas Berg. The album title refers to the fact that the album is a tribute to the musical mentors, who wellcomed Manuela Lærke, when she first came to Copenhagen in the late eighties. On the album Manuela Lærke pays tribute to legendary musicians, who inspired a whole generation of the Scandinavian and international jazz scene. These include the late Ernie Wilkins (US), Etta Cameron (US) and Richard Boone (US), and not least our very own: bass player Hugo Rasmussen (DK) and saxophone player Bob Rockwell (US).

Her previously celebrated solo albums; “The Things We Do For Love” 2008 feat. Alexander Abreu (Cuba) on (ManuMusic Records), “ManuLand” 2004 (Cope Records/EMI) and “So Very Still” 2002 feat. The London Community Gospel Choir (Sundance Records) have also been awarded with glowing reviews and media attention.
Bio’ in short:
Manuela Lærke has performed with various jazz ensembles, bigbands and soul/funk orchestras. She is an accomplished session vocalist and creative writer, having worked both as a movie conductor as well as being a highly appreciated live vocalist.
Throughout her career Manuela Lærke has performed with distinguished artists such as; (the late) Richard Boone (US), Ernie Wilkins (US) and artist like Etta Cameron (US), Lisa Nilsson (S) and Mariah Carey (US) alongside of touring with her jazz ensemble “Manuela Lærke Quartet”.
During the nineties Manuela Lærke formed the vocal ensemble “Little Gospel Choir”, which soon grew into the much larger “Little Bigger Gospel Choir”, accompanying her live on tour. Working with choirs holds a special place in Manuelas heart, which is why she often accepts invitations to work and perform with international as well as local choirs.
Based on Manuela´s Lærkes 25 years of experience, her vocal technique; ”An insight into vocal skills and creativity,” (soon to be published in English) is in such demand, that she has become a popular business coach, teaching HR development and corporate performance workshops as well as giving vocal master classes and lectures to aspiring singers from around the world.
